Town Board Summer Agenda
2008

Supervisor Daniel Pangrazio recognized Emily Deragon, Harold Neale, Christina Lindner, Katelyn Cappotelli and Jennifer Maracle, Caledonia teens who received the Livingston County Teen Recognition award.

Councilperson Pam Rychlicki opened a discussion with the board about having Derrick Monument inspect some of the veterans’ grave markers at the town cemetery on Church Street and provide an estimate for removing paint mistakenly used on them.

Highway Superintendent Mark Schroeder updated the board on the roadwork being done in his department. The highway crew has worked on several roads in the town and plans to assist the village highway crew this summer with several streets as well.

Councilperson Tim Anderson and Town Clerk Laurie Sattora reported on a collection of forms prepared for the planning and zoning board of appeals. The forms are those most commonly requested by residents and used by the two boards such as subdivision requests, site plan review, SEQR, variance applications and the like. The board approved use of the blank forms by the planning and zoning board of appeals.

   The board approved the town office’s summer hours for May 1 - September 1 of Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Drainage and excess water in the west end of town was once again a discussion on the table. The town and village plan to work together to alleviate water problems in that area by installing an underground pipe to channel water from the south side of West Main Street to the north side behind New York Bean and the rail yard and emptying into Spring Creek. This work is being done to reduce excess water from creeping across West Main Street and flooding properties there during the flood seasons.

A public hearing date was rescinded in the zoning matter of AGL Homes located on Avon-Caledonia Road. The company initially was interested in making changes to its PUD (planned unit development) to accommodate its business expansion, however, the plans have been halted, at least temporarily.

In other zoning matters, the board adopted the revised official town zoning map reflective of two minor changes in the River Road area. A copy of the newest zoning map will be on display in the town hall very soon.

As with most merchants and business owners, the board approved a resolution to adopt a $50 returned check fee. Up until now, the town did not have any returned check fee in place. The newly adopted fee will be posted at the town hall and at the town transfer station. The board also discussed examining permit fees, which have gone unchanged since 1988. Their discussion resulted in no action at this time.
