Over 100 turn out in record heat for 4th annual SOS race

   In record heat, over 100 walkers and racers turned out to participate in the 4th Annual Source of Success 5K fundraising event held June 7 in Caledonia. The race started on Main Street and followed a three-mile route on Spring, George and Main Streets (in Mumford) with the finish line located at the corner of Pioneer Avenue.

   A variety of prizes, all donated by local merchants and businesses, were awarded to first, second and third place finishers in several different age categories.

   The overall winner in the men’s category was Edward Juliani, 18 minutes 47 seconds and the overall winner in the women’s category was Katie Urbonas, 20 minutes 1second.

   Source of Success is a not for profit organization that sponsors an after school homework and socialization program for Cal-Mum sixth and seventh grade students. SOS is a program of First Presbyterian Church, Caledonia. All of the workers are volunteers except for the director.
