Young Lady Raiders compete in Travel Soccer
Eight adventurous young ladies from Caledonia have completed a long season competing in Travel Soccer. They endured 2 practices per week, in the winter months (strength and conditioning along with skills and fundamentals). Sarah Biondolillo, Katelyn Cole, Maddi Flint, Shondrel MacWilliams, Breanne Nelson, Emily Phillips, Kasey Stein and Emily Peterson, playing for a girls under 13 team from Churchville. Their season of which began in the fall of 2007 continuing through July 2008. These girls, along with some other talented young ladies from Churchville, Gates and Chili, all competed in a short indoor season at Total Sports Experience in Gates, weekend outdoor tournaments in Chili, Fairport, Hilton and Clarence and a 12 game season in the greater Rochester area. The young ladies completed their regular season, finishing in 3rd place with only 2 losses against teams from Spencerport, Canandaigua, Fairport, Pittsford, Greece, and Batavia. These young athletes made the jump from "recreational" summer soccer to a higher level of competition in RDYSL (Rochester District Youth Soccer league). The young ladies ALL showed tremendous growth in terms of game strategy, fundamental skills and a better understanding of the game; all of which while forging new friendships. These HIGH HONOR ROLL students, all should be commended for their hard work and dedication. A tremendous thank you should be expressed to the parents of these young ladies as well. Providing transportation, canopies, drinks, snacks and opening there homes for our end of the year party. |
