Sectional Semifinal Game Summary

#3 RED CREEK 5 - #2 CAL-MUM 0
30 October 2007

The Cal-Mum Red Raiders boys’ soccer season came to an end with a loss to the eventual Class CC sectional champion Red Creek Mules in the Class CC sectional semifinals. In the first 20 minutes, both teams battled back and forth and had opportunities to score, but it was Red Creek’s Colton Gregg who netted the game’s first goal to give Red Creek a 1-0 lead. Red Creek would add to their lead with 10 minutes remaining in the first half as Eli Vitale scored to make the halftime score 2-0. In the second half, Red Creek added three more goals as their strong attack proved to be too much for the Red Raiders – who fought valiantly for the entire 90 minutes. It was the final game for Cal-Mum seniors Matt Kooy, Chris Roll, Andy Spencer, Greg Grattan, Ben Sperr, Brian Walker, Leland Smith, Jordan Vokes, Charlie Worl, and Joe Shaffer. This year’s team will be remembered for its numerous accomplishments including winning the LCAA Division II league title and amassing a school record 14 wins.
