May 7 to 9 the Cal-Mum Boy Scouts traveled to Woodstock, Ontario, Ca to attend an International Campout with over 380 other Scouts from Michigan to Maryland and southern Ontario Canada. The event is a day long scouting skills competition involving fire building, first aid, plant and tree identification, knot tying, a obstacle run through the woods and other activities.

Although we had a small group due to scheduling conflicts with other activities the boys are involved in, the Cal-Mum Scouts did us all proud! We placed first in 3 of 7 events with about 40 groups competing in each event! Other troops with as many as 40 boys competing only won 1 award. This was a great day for the Cal-Mum Scouts. Of special note: Michael Roll won the obstacle course for the 4th time, an event his older brother Chris used to dominate when he was a scout.

The Boys Scouts would like to thank the entire community for their support of our bottle drives. These drives are what allow us to go to big camporees like Woodstock.
