Live from Bethlehem production at St. Columba
The production was called, "Live from Bethlehem," a news broadcast of the events taking place around the time of Jesus’ birth. There was in-studio reporting of the trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem because of the Roman census. Mary and Joseph were included among those making trip. Mary was great with child and Joseph was carefully watching over her so as to arrive safely. The production also included live reporting from the scene where Joseph was forced to lay his wife Mary down among the animals in a barn to give birth to her child. There were even several humorous commercial breaks in this show, which was an opportunity to bring the people of the parish together. Even the parish priest, Father Mickey McGrath played a part as the person responsible for the sound. "We wanted to get kids and adults together to bring some revitalization to the parish," co-director Karen Polo said. Nora Brunette assisted directed with Polo. The cast performed "Live from Bethlehem" for their families and the parish on Wednesday, December 10. click on image above to enlarge ....
