William L. Sherman William L. Sherman, 68, of Mumford died May 11, 2000 at St. Jerome's Hospital in Batavia. William served in the U.S. Army as a medic for 25 years. He served one term in Korea, and three terms in Vietnam. He was a member of the LeRoy Lion's Club, and enjoyed his rose garden and fishing, He was also a big Yankee's fan. William is survived by his wife; Murene, Mumford, children; Rebecca (Aldo) Poletti, Littleton, CO, William (Cyndi) Sherman, Spencer, IN, Lisa (Bryon) Segelke, Sterling, CO, and Kathryn (Kippy) (Tom) Lynch, Littleton, CO, mother-in-law; Lorraine Livermore, Mumford, stepson; Larry (Tricia) Gere, Mumford, siblings; Mary (Stanley) Jaszcz, LeRoy, Sally (James) Ventura, CA, Dorothy (James) Hertel, Richard (Kay) Sherman, Shirley (late Richard) Wolfram, Kathryn (Everett) Bryer, Lois (Emil) Augsburger, all of Buffalo, 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents; William L. and Susie (Braun) Sherman. Friends called Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Alhart Funeral Home where his service was held Tuesday at 10 A.M. Reverend Encie Stevens officiated the service. Interment was held at Mumford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Caledonia Ambulance, P.O.
