Walter C. Allenbrandt

   Walter C. Allenbrandt, age 86 years, of York died March 25, 2009 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. The son of Conrad and Emma Allenbrandt, Walter was born August 21, 1922 in Machias, NY. He retired after many years of farming for several farms including; Doolittle Brothers Farm and Simpson Farm both in the town of York, Reding Farms in Gainesville and the Abbott  Farms in Silver Springs. Walter was a member of the York-Leicester Towners and a 4-H leader. He enjoyed collecting various items from key chains to pens and pencils. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anna May; children, Donna (Augie) Lindsay of Lima, Debra (Gary) Buchanan of Mt. Morris, Dorothy (Brad) Welch of Floral City, FL, Douglas (Joan) Allenbrandt of Stafford, Dora Whitney (Mitch) of Retsof; grandchildren, Kevin (Devin), and Mike Lindsay, Peter "Monk" Occhioni, Bridgett Buchanan, Amanda, Shana and Sarah Welch, A.J. and Amber Allenbrandt, Julia and Spencer Whitney, mother-in-law, Irene Romesser of Attica, sisters, Loretta Sobon of Batavia, Anna Dye of Franklinville, brother, Albert (Betty) Allenbrandt of Piffard, several nieces and nephews. His parents, Conrad and Emma Allenbrandt, sister, Carrie Everitt and brother, James Allenbrandt predecease Walter.

   Friends called Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 3:00-7:00 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Service was held Sunday, 2:00 PM at St. Lucy’s Church, Retsof. Interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
