Anthony P. Valente Sr., age 72 years, of St. Petersburg, Florida and formerly from Caledonia passed away on May 12, 2008. He was born in Rochester, NY. He graduated from the Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in 1955. Early in his career he was owner and director of funeral homes in Rochester and Caledonia, NY. In 1969, he was elected New York Livingston County Coroner, and served until 1979. During that time he also served a term as Mayor of Caledonia. In 1979, he and his family moved to St. Petersburg, where he purchased the Seminole Beach Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. He ran that establishment until his retirement. 

   He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine of 52 years, children, Frank, Ben, Tony, Jr., and Ann, and grandchildren Nicholas, Christian, Anthony, Alexa, Victoria, Rebecca, and Amber. He is also survived by a sister, Jenny, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
