Rocky A. Rapone, age 84 years, formerly of Caledonia, died November 25, 2004 at his home in Dunn, NC. Mr. Rapone was born September 6, 1920, in Caledonia, the son of the late Pasqale and Teresa Zuffranieri Rapone. Mr. Rapone was owner and operator of Rapone Stables in NY and a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in WWII.

   He is survived by his wife, Florence Nicometo Rapone of Dunn, NC; daughters, Theresa (Donald) Mattice of Caledonia and Constance (Donald) Spell of Dunn, NC; son, Rocco (Nancy) Rapone of Batavia; sisters, Mary Middleton, Louise Andolora and Anna Middleton, all of Caledonia & Theresa Noble of DE; brother, Louie Rapone of Caledonia; grandchildren, Patrice M. Baker of AL, Tracey Anne Booth of MI, Patrick & Jason Mattice & Mathew Johns Rapone; 8 great-grandchildren.

   Friends called Monday, November 29, 7-9 PM at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn, NC. A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, November 30, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery, with military honors. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, December 3rd, 5:30 PM at St. Columba Church, 198 North Street in Caledonia.
