Robert P. Waldron

   Robert P. Waldron, of Caledonia, passed away June 15, 2006 at age 85. Bob was born in Olean, New York, and lived in Ithaca, Scottsville, Seneca Falls, Clifton Springs and Caledonia. A veteran of WWII, he served as the medical supply officer for the Army's 24th Field Hospital stationed in the South Pacific. After the war he attended Pharmacy College at the University of Buffalo. Bob spent most of his working career in sales. After a brief stint selling Packard cars, he spent 32 years as sales manager at Allen Bailey Tag and Label Company in Caledonia. He retired in 1982. His hobbies and interests included hunting and fishing, boating, bowling and music. He sang in a barbershop quartet and played the trumpet. Community involvement included the Lions Club, the Planning Board of Caledonia, and the Cub Scouts. He was a member of the Sales Executive Club of Rochester, and served on the session of the First Presbyterian Church of Seneca Falls for several years. He loved life, his family and a good joke.

   Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois Swarts Waldron; children Lynn (Art) Adams, Janet (Larry) Flynn, James Waldron, Rene (Mark) Kelly, Barbara (Dale) Cornish, Joan (Scott) Harvey, and Donald (Rachel) Waldron; and one brother, Maurice (Evelyn) Waldron. He is predeceased by children Judith (Richard) Johnston, and Robert David Waldron, and his brothers Don, Jack and Bruce. Bob has 13 grandchildren: Elly Adams Scott (Mike), Nathan Adams, Laura Johnston Heon (Markus), Jennifer Johnston Ford (Kevin), Joshua (Clare) Waldron, Sarah Waldron Johnson (Buzz), Michael Waldron, Elizabeth Waldron, Shannon Kelly, Emily Kelly, Evan Kelly, Lara Cornish, and Jacob Cornish; 6 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Evan and William Scott; Max and Nathan Heon; and Nicholas Ford; with a new one on the way!
A memorial service to celebrate his life was held on July 3rd, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 Main Street, Caledonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob's memory may be sent to Fraxa, Fragile X Research Foundation, 45 Pleasant Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
