Rika (Veldhuizen) Van De Vliert

   Rika (Veldhuizen) Van De Vliert, age 71 years, of Caledonia died January 22, 2005 at her son’s home in Idaho. She was born July 7, 1933 in the Netherlands, daughter of Anton and Gerrie (Van Ee) Veldhuizen. Rika and her husband, Al came to the United States from the Netherlands in 1956. They owned and operated Hilltop Auto Supply in Scottsville. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caledonia and the Big Springs Garden Club in Caledonia. Her husband, Al and sister, Jannie predeceased Rika. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law; Alan and Penny Van De Vliert of Boise, Idaho and Eric Van De Vliert of Caledonia; granddaughters, Tegan and Christa Van De Vliert; brothers, John (Willy) Veldhuizen of Livonia, Gerrit (Dirkj) Veldhuizen, sister, Gerrie (Gradus) Willemsen all of the Netherlands; and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

   There were no calling hours. Friends attended her Graveside Service, Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 11 AM at the Mumford Rural Cemetery. A Memorial Service was held Sunday, March 20, 2005 at 2 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 West Main Street, Caledonia.
