Ralph D. King Sr.

   Ralph D. King Sr., age 66 years, of Caledonia and LeRoy died March 2, 2001 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia after a brief illness. He was born May 18, 1934 in Caledonia to Clement and Mildred (Grimes) King Sr. Ralph was a 1953 graduate of Caledonia-Mumford Central School. He played football all four years. He is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He worked for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation at Region 8 headquarters in East Avon for 42 years. After retirement from the DEC, Ralph started a woodworking business called "Pops Pines". He made wooden toys and trains. He was a past member of the Mumford Sportsman Club and a member of the LeRoy and Warsaw Moose Lodges. Ralph was a member of the Pavilion and Caledonia Fire Departments. He was an avid hunter, camper and fisherman. Ralph is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol (Hameister) King, LeRoy; children, Wendy (Courtney) King Nixon, Caledonia, Ralph (Nancy) King Jr., Sebastian, FL, Linda (Kevin) King Martin, Daniel (Sandra) King, Randy (Darlene) King, all of LeRoy; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. 2 brothers, Clement "Zog" (Beverly) King, Stafford, Jon "Jack" (Judy) King, Caledonia, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, Predeceased by his sister Evelyn Pierce and parents, Clement and Mildred King Sr.

   Friends called Monday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Alhart Funeral Home, where his Funeral Service was held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. In leu of flowers, contributions may be made to the King Family, POB 4, LeRoy, NY 14482.
