Melinda Swarts McDermott Melinda Swarts McDermott, age 50 years, of Lafayette CO and formally of Caledonia succumbed to thymus cancer on April 2, 2006. Mindi was born August 26, 1955 in Rochester to Sidney and Virginia Place Swarts. She moved to Boulder in 1979 and to Lafayette in 1987. She married Richard McDermott on July 5, 1985, in Santa Fe, NM. She was a long-time customer service manager at Blue Mountain Arts in Boulder, Colorado. Mindi enjoyed reading, bird-watching and chocolate. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard McDermott of Lafayette CO; her sister, Kathryn Niedzwick of Bradenton FL; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents. Private services. Donations, in Mindi's name, may be made to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, 2323 55th Street, Boulder CO 80301.
