Mildred F. Bedford Mildred F. Bedford, age 85 years, of Caledonia and Lompoc, CA died March 9, 2001 in Lompoc, CA. She was born February 1, 1916 in Scottsville, NY to George and Margaret (Sherman) Sands. She worked as an assembler for nearly 20 years at Allen-Bailey Tag & Label Inc. in Caledonia and later as a docent for Genesee Country Museum in Mumford. Mildred was a frequent winter visitor to Lompoc, moving there in 1998. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Mildred is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; George and Cheryl Bedford, Lompoc, CA; son-in-law; Larry Van Allen, Avon, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband; William C. Bedford (1980); daughter, Vivian Bedford Van Allen (1995). Friends called Thursday, 2-4 and 6-7:30 P.M. at the Alhart Funeral Home. Her Funeral Mass was held Friday, 11:00 A.M. at St. Columba Church. Interment will be held at St. Columba Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Focus on the Children, PO Box 31, Caledonia, or the Caledonia Ambulance, PO Box 1, Caledonia, NY 14423.
