Matilda J. Stimson Matilda J. Stimson, age 86 years, of Geneseo and Avon died October 24, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with heart disease. Tillie was born June 21, 1922 to George and Margaret Shreve in Geneseo, and is there that she met Kitt her husband of 68 years. She worked for Chloride Networks in Caledonia for many years and at SUNY Geneseo as a baker. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved getting together for many family gatherings. She was the first one to arrive and the last the leave! She is survived by her husband, Kitt; five children; Martha (Carl) Fuller of Piffard, Midge Chaves of St. Petersburg, FL, Bonnie (Jim) Noble of Pavilion, Donald (Elizabeth) Stimson of VA and Peggie (Loren) Meale of Avon; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, sister, Janice (Dave) Thomas of LeRoy; brother George Shreve of Warsaw, many nieces and nephews. Friends attended a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at 1 PM at the United Presbyterian Church, Main Street, York. A private interment was held at Leicester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Avon Rotary-Lions Volunteer Ambulance, 74 Genesee Street, Avon, NY 14414 or Geneseo Ambulance PO Box 428, Geneseo, NY 14454.
