Mabel L. Matteson, age 79 years, of Mumford/Caledonia died July 1, 2002 at the Teresa House in Geneseo. She was born November 25, 1922 in Sodus, NY to Howard and Fannie (Eaton) Weeks. Mabel retired as a nurse’s aid from Monroe Community Hospital in Rochester, and was a member of United Presbyterian Stone Church. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Gary and Cathy Matteson of Caledonia; granddaughters, Amber, Tammy and Michelle Matteson of Caledonia; sister, Bessie Porray of Ontario; brothers, Robert (Pearl) of Sodus Bay, Donald of Hammondsport, Garth (Dorothy) of Canandaigua, Lee (Bev) of Marion, Norman (Millie) of Red Creek, Norris (Pat) Weeks of Clifton Springs; several nieces and nephews. Her husband, William and son, Thomas predeceased Mabel.

   No prior calling hours. Family and friends were invited to attend her Funeral Service Friday, at 11 AM at the United Presbyterian Stone Church, 3177 Church Street, Caledonia. Interment was held at Mumford Rural Cemetery, Mumford. Memorials may be made to the Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo, NY 14454 or the United Presbyterian Stone Church.
