Lois L. DeVore Lois L. DeVore, of Caledonia left us to be with her heavenly family on March 21, 2009. She is survived by her husband, Ray W. DeVore; son and daughter-in-law, Fred C. and Martha DeVore; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Gary McIntyre; grandchildren, John (Dawn) DeVore, Jason DeVore and Holly Ann McIntyre; great-grandchildren, Emily and Madison; her sister, Doris Lawrence; brother, Howard (Shirley) Lawrence; sisters-in-law, Ellen and Bernice Lawrence; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother and father, Charles Mason and Lulu Lawrence; 5 brothers and 1 sister. Lois was born to Charles Mason and Lulu Lawrence on October 13, 1925 in Clarion, PA. She attended Clarion schools and graduated from High School in 1943. After high school she attended Hoffs Business School and later was a secretary to management at Pennsylvania Furnace and Iron. On October 7, 1946 she was married to Ray W. DeVore. They moved to Oneida, NY where Ray worked for GLF (Grange League Federation). They transferred to Caledonia in 1948. They joined the Caledonia United Presbyterian Church in 1955 when Rev. Donald MacLeod was Pastor. Lois was very active in church work including choir for years. She was a quilter most of her life and at one time was recognized by the State of New York as a top notch quilter. For many years she never sat down to rest without her hands making mittens or something. Many children’s organizations received a box of mittens ever year. A Celebration of Lois’ life was held 1:00 PM Saturday (March 28, 2009) at the United Presbyterian Stone Church, 3177 Church Street, Caledonia, NY 14423.
