John Phillip Clary John P. Clary, age 18 years, of Pavilion died peacefully surrounded by family and friends following a long illness on February 13, 2004 at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. He was born May 15, 1985 in Batavia, NY to Kevin R. and Rhonda L. (Owens) Clary. John was a graduate of Pavilion Central High School and most recently attended Happiness House in Canandaigua. He preformed volunteer work for Golisano Children’s Hospital, All Babies Cherished, and was an enthusiastic "camper" at Camp Good Days and Special Times. John was involved in 4-H Fishing Club, Boy Scouts, Little League, and collected Teddy Bears. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame, Green Bay, and the New York Yankees. John collected baseball cards and Pez Dispensers. He received the "Youth Recognition Award." in 2000 from the city of Batavia, and the Miracle Maker Award for outstanding commitment by an individual at Golisano Children’s Hospital. John was the Homecoming King at Pavilion Central High School, and was a member of the track team. John also loved music and could play almost any instrument. He is survived by his mom and dad; Rhonda and Kevin Clary; sister, Emily, and dog, Maggie all of Pavilion; grandparents, Douglas and Mary Owens of Centerville, several aunts, uncles, cousins; and many special friends. His grandmother, Jeanne F. Clary predeceases John. Friends called Monday 1-3 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Mass was held Tuesday at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pavilion with a reception immediately following at the Pavilion Fireman’s Hall. In addition there was an ecumenical service at Pavilion Central High School auditorium on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM. Interment at St. Columba Cemetery in Caledonia. Memorials may be made to the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong, Strong Memorial Hospital, Office of Development and Community Affairs, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14642 or Happiness House, 35 North Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424 or Camp Good Days and Special Times.
