James Williams

   James Williams, age 79 years, of Caledonia died June 19, 2003 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. He was born in Augusta, GA on March 2, 1924 to William and Mary (Ellison) Cooper. James was a retired machinist for LeRoy Industries in LeRoy. He was an army veteran of WWII, a member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans in Batavia. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Lucia; children, James (Awilda Torres) Williams of Ledminster, MA, Leon (Norine Colvin) Williams of Vancouver, B.C., Marthina Williams of Long Beach, CA, Mary (Bill) Scott of Albuquerque, NM, Roger (Kathlyn) Williams of LeRoy, Stacey Williams of LeRoy; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Orealee Banks of Rochester, Fannie Mae Nowell of Rochester, Irene Niles of Rochester; brother, Lewis Williams of Washington, DC; sister-in-law, Ruth Bell Bedford of LaGrange, GA; several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Idelle Williams.

   Friends called Sunday, June 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Service was held Monday, 11:00 AM at the Second Baptist Church, George Street, Mumford. Interment at Mumford Rural Cemetery.
