John L. Schirmer John L. Schirmer, age 74 years, of Caledonia died November 28, 2005 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born January 30, 1931 in Dansville, NY to Robert and Delia Schirmer. Mr. Schirmer served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was a member of the Mathew Cleary American Legion Post in Caledonia. He retired from Eastman Kodak, was a member of St. Columba Church, and enjoyed his grandchildren, reading and playing cards. Mr. Schirmer is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary; daughter and son-in-law; Elizabeth and David Nevin-Brown of LeRoy; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Ruth of Caledonia, Joseph and Debra of Spencerport, Jason and Kelly Schirmer of Avon; grandchildren, Josh (Elizabeth) Brown, Samuel, Mariel, Emily, Eva and Claire Schirmer; brothers, Dr. Robert Schirmer of MI, Thomas (Gail) Schirmer of Canandaigua; several nieces and nephews. His sister, Phyllis Yodice, brother, Dr. David Schirmer and son-in-law, Peter Brown predeceased John. Family and friends called Thursday, December 1, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Mass was held, Friday, December 2 at 10 AM at St. Columba Church. Interment was held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville at 2 PM.
