Horace C. Hazelton

   Horace C. Hazelton, age 78 years, of Wheatland died August 23, 2002 at his home in Wheatland. Horace was born May 25, 1924 in Pierpont, NY to Howard and Bessie (Bradish) Hazelton. He was a registered nurse for the Rochester Psychiatric Center for 33 years. Horace served in WWII as a fighter pilot. He enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling, and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Matthew Cleary Post 255 in Caledonia, the Caledonia Senior Citizens, and the Wesleyan Church of Avon. Horace is survived by his wife, Madeline Hazelton of Wheatland; daughters and sons-in-law; Jo (Fay) Barratt of Leicester, Barbara (Daniel) Scutt of York, Joyce (Stephen) Scutt of Limerock, Cynthia (Sim) Kilpatrick of Mumford, Patricia (Jim) Aierle of Dannemora, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Beverly Hazelton of Wheatland; 21 grandchildren; sister, Ester Peck of Ellenburg, NY. His daughter, Donna Hulme and granddaughters, Rebecca and Natale Hulme predecease Horace.

   Friends called Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Service was held Monday, 11:30 AM at the Wesleyan Church of Avon, 300 Genesee St., Avon, NY 14414. A private interment was held. Memorials may be made to the Wesleyan Church of Avon or the First Baptist Church, Dakin Street, Mumford, NY 14511.
