Herbert J. Brandes Jr.

   Herbert Brandes Jr., age 73 years, of Caledonia /LeRoy passed away suddenly on the afternoon of Tuesday July 22, 2003 at Roswell Park in Buffalo.

   Herbert was born on November 2, 1929 in Caledonia to the late Herbert Sr. & Anna (Ryan) Brandes. He served with the United States Army as a paratrooper, and later worked as a Set-Up Inspector for Lapp Insulator in LeRoy for 34 Years. Herb also worked security at the Genesee Country Museum in Mumford.

   He is survived by sons Michael Brandes of Gates, Joseph (Karen) Brandes of Leicester, David (Patricia) Brandes of Pavilion, Paul (Linda) Brandes of LeRoy, Matthew Brandes of LeRoy, brothers John Brandes of LeRoy, James (Carol) Brandes of Stafford, sister Barbara (Robert) Shepard of Pavilion, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by wife Agnes, sisters Arlene Hall & Mary Pollock.

   Family and friends called at the Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott St. (Rt. 19 South) LeRoy, on Friday from 4-7 PM, where funeral services were held at 7 PM. Memorials may be made to the family.
