George W. Middleton

   George W. Middleton, 82, of Caledonia died October 15, 1999 at the New York State Veteran's Home in Batavia after a short illness. George was born September 12, 1917 in Northumberland, PA to George W. and Mary (Bower) Middleton. George was a retired Steamfitter for Local 13 in Rochester. He served in World War II and was a member of the Union, Masonic Lodge of Caledonia, VFW and the Matthew Clary Post, both of Caledonia. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Anna (Rapone) Middleton, Caledonia, daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Kenneth Mattice, Georgeann and Kenneth Shultz, son and daughter-in-law William and Judy Middleton, all of Caledonia, brother, Willard Middleton, TN, and sister, Georgeann Philips, Geneseo, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

   Friends may call Tuesday, October 19, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, where a Masonic Service will be held Tuesday, 6:45 PM. Wednesday at 2 PM, friends are invited to his Funeral Service at the First Baptist Church, Dakin Street, Mumford. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tom Vickers. Interment will be made at Mumford Rural Cemetery, Mumford. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Mumford, NY 14511 OR the NYS Veteran's Home, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020.
