Florence N. Rapone

   Florence Marie Nicometo Rapone, age 85 years, of Dunn, NC and formally of Caledonia died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at her home. She was born October 7, 1920, in Oakfield, NY, to the late Constanzo and Candita Nicometo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rocky Rapone; brothers, Charles, Arthur and Frank Nicometo; and a sister, Jeannette Nicometo. Mrs. Rapone attended Oakfield High School and Jamestown Cooking School. She retired from General Motors in 1989.

   Survivors include daughters, Theresa Mattice and husband Don of Caledonia, Constance Spell and husband Don of Dunn, NC; a son, Rocco Rapone and wife Nancy of Batavia, NY; brothers, James Nicometo and wife Loretta of Buffalo, NY, Domonic Nicometo and wife Sandy of The Villages, FL, Albert Thomas Nicometo and wife Mary Ann of Montgomery, AL; sisters, Olga Josephine Deas, Mary Pasquale DeSimone and husband Edmond, and Constance Rosemarie Woodruff, all of Montgomery; grandchildren, Patrick Mattice and wife Chris, Jason Mattice and wife Jen, Patrice Baker and husband Chad, Tracey Rybiski and Matthew Johns Rapone; and great-grandchildren, Emily Mattice, Nathan Mattice, Mitchell Mattice, Jay Booth, Danial Rybiski, Travis Booth, Nichole Booth, Anna Booth and Courtney Booth.

   Calling Hours and a Rosary service was held at Cromartie-Miller & Lee Funeral Home in Dunn. A funeral Mass was held Friday, March 24 at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church by Father Paul Parkerson. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn, NC. A Memorial Service was held at St. Columba's Church in Caledonia on Wednesday, June 14 at 5:00.
