Florence E. Earnest Florence E. Earnest, age 95 years, died November 8, 2000 at St. John's Nursing Home in Rochester after a long illness. She was born August 14, 1905 in Auburn, NY to John and Elizabeth (Talcott) Backus. Florence retired from teaching in 1975 from the Pompano Beach School, Pompano Beach, FL. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caledonia and the Caledonia Senior Citizens. Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by her nephews, Tom and Carole Sims and Jack and Katie Sims, both of Caledonia, many grandnieces and grandnephews and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Caledonia Ambulance, PO Box 1, Caledonia, NY 14423.
