Eleanor J. Robertson

   Eleanor J. Robertson, age 89 years, of Caledonia/Scottsville died September 10, 2003 at her home. She was born December 20, 1913 in Caledonia to J. Lorin and Jane Elizabeth (Mullen) Reist. Eleanor graduated from the Geneseo Normal School in 1935. She began her teaching career in Canandaigua then took time off to care for her family. Eleanor returned to teaching in 1962 to Bergen Elementary School, and remained there until her retirement in 1979. Eleanor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caledonia where she was in the Women’s Association, and in charge of mission collections for several years. She also was a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Caledonia Chapter, Order Easter Star 451. She and her husband, Hugh were Matron and Patron in 1987. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Roger Howlett of Hamlin, Jeanne and Andrew Earl of Caledonia, Elizabeth (E.A.) and Don Sears of Scottsville; son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Robertson of Castle Rock, CO, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. Eleanor is predeceased by husband Hugh Robertson and her sister, Georgianna MacKenzie.

   Friends called Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. Her Funeral Service was held Saturday, 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 West Main Street, Caledonia, NY 14423. Officiating the service was Reverend Nancy Reinert. Interment took place at Mumford Rural Cemetery.
