Dorothy L. Hamilton of Caledonia died peacefully in her 93rd year on January 14, 2007 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born August 17, 1914 in LeRoy, NY to Charles Jay and Helen Lathan. Mrs. Hamilton retired from Caledonia-Mumford Central School after 26 years of service. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution, The Big Springs Historical Society and a member St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Caledonia for 63 years. Mrs. Hamilton enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She is survived by her sons Thomas (Mary Catherine) and John Hamilton both of Caledonia; grandchildren, Monica, David Hamilton, Kathleen (Joseph) Johnson, Jeffrey Hamilton, Kristin Phillips and Thomas Ennis; great-grandchildren, Brett, Oliver, Aaron, Tyler and Zachary, nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Her husband, Bill predeceased Mrs. Hamilton in 2002.

   Family and friends called Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. Her Funeral Service was held Wednesday, 11 AM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 175 North Street, Caledonia. Interment at Mumford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church. The family would like to thank the LeRoy Village Green Rehabilitation Floor, and the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital for excellent care.
