Dorothy J. Hallett, age 79 years, of Caledonia died October 17, 2008. The daughter of Howard and Zoe Belle Preston, Dorothy was born June 28, 1929 in Hornell, NY.  She retired from General Motors of Rochester after being the first woman promoted to supervisor. Dorothy also worked for the Thruway Authority and retired after 15 years of service. Dorothy was faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Avon for over 45 years; where she served as elder and session member. She was an avid supporter of the Cal-Mum sports program and loved NASCAR, traveling, and her family. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Michael and Beverly, Patrick and Betty, Frank and Bonnie, William and Deborah, Kenneth and Sheila Hallett; grandchildren, Chad (Amy) Hallett, Carrie (Michael) Paris, Megan (Michael) Churchill, Melissa (Gerrit) Knickerbocker, Tracy (Tim) Commers, Stanley Hallett, Cynthia (Jennifer) Hallett, Jennifer (Tom) Dignin, Matthew Hallett, Michael (Christa) Hallett, Jason Hallett, Tara (Kenneth) Sheird, Ryan (Devon Bird) Hallett, Aaron (Sarah Backus) Hallett, Christian Hallett; great-grandchildren, Fisher, Emma, Morgan and Jesse, Johanna, Carly, Rachel, Laura, Alexander, Carter, Collin, Kaden, Trent, Rayne; brothers, Howard (Nancy) Ralph (Arlene) Preston, special friend, Linda Booth, many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Her husband, Wilton, sister Helen and brother, Larry predecease Dorothy.

   Friends called Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 6-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia.  Her Funeral Service was held Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Avon, 5605 East Avon-Lima Rd., East Avon. Interment at Avon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 5605 East Avon-Lima Road, Avon, NY 14414.
