Donald W. Sullivan

   Donald W. Sullivan, age 81 years, of Caledonia died October 21, 2005 at the LeRoy Village Green after a long illness. He was born March 3, 1924 in Fowlerville to William C. and Helen Sullivan. Don owned and operated the Sullivan Farms of Caledonia for over 50 years. Together with his son-in-law, Tom and nephew, Bill, they worked 2,200 acres. They raised dry beans, hay, corn, wheat, oats, peas and straw. Don was the area rep for Pioneer Seed for over 37 years, selling seed to area farmers. He was a member of St. Columba Church since 1948. He served as an usher at the 8:00 AM Mass. Don was named Caledonia Citizen of the Year in 2000.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Mary Alice Sullivan, Karen and Tom Stalica; granddaughters, Laura (Timothy) Vink, Emily and Melanie Stalica; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Carol, Paul and Donna Sullivan, 2 nephews and one niece, several cousins. His wife, Mary Jane predeceased Don in 1990.

   Friends called Saturday, October 22, 7-9 PM and Sunday, October 23, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Mass was held Monday, October 24, 2005 at 10 AM at St. Columba Church. Interment was held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Fowlerville.
