Catherine L. Ford, age 90 years, of LeRoy/Caledonia died at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia on May 24, 2003. She was born April 24, 1913 in Caledonia to Alexander and Jennett (McIntyre) DeNoon. Catherine graduated from the Geneseo Normal School as a teacher and librarian. She ran her own craft business in LeRoy. She made dolls, knitted sweaters, and many other sewing projects. Catherine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Woman’s Legion Auxiliary of Caledonia, and the Weavers’ Guild. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Mergott/Mechler; grandchildren, Wayne S. Mergott III of Plano, TX, Douglas G. (Deborah) Mergott of Rocky Point, NY, Daniel C. (Amy) Mergott of Berlin, MD, Tonya (Mark) Kruegar of Brockport, NY, Theron James Mergott of Caledonia, NY, Patrick L. Mechler of Caledonia, NY, Tina (Matt) Szostak of Webster, NY; 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Betty) DeNoon of Caledonia; niece, E. Ann Kretschmer of Easton, ME. She is predeceased by her husband, Frank C. Ford; son, Michael L. Ford; brother, William A. DeNoon.

    Friends called Friday 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. Private interment at Mumford Rural Cemetery. Her Memorial Service was held Saturday, May 31 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 W. Main Street, Caledonia. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the LeRoy Ambulance, 1 Tountas Avenue, LeRoy, NY 14482.
