Carroll S. Bickford, age 85 years, of Caledonia died May 23, 2001 at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris. He was born April 19, 1916 in Tamworth, NH to Wilber J. and Francis (Hobbs) Bickford. Carroll was a long time farmer in Caledonia and a member of the Farm Bureau, Pro-Fac Cooperative, and the Upstate Cooperative, He was named Caledonia's Citizen of the Year in 2000. Carroll served on the Caledonia Fire Department for over 40 years. He was chairman of the Caledonia Ambulance and a member of the Fire Department Benevolent Fund. He was an original member of the Caledonia Planning Board, and served as Caledonia Town Supervisor for 20 years. Carroll also served on the Livingston County Republican Committee for many years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years; Evelyn, Caledonia, sons and daughters-in-law; Richard and Sharon Bickford and Robert and Sally Bickford, both of Caledonia; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

   Friends called Tuesday, May 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held Wednesday, May 30, at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 Main Street. Interment at St. Columba Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the Caledonia Ambulance, PO Box 1, Caledonia, NY 14423 or the charity of your choice.
