Bernice I. Emery Bernice I. Emery, age 57 years, died July 21, 2001 at her home in Caledonia after a long battle with cancer. She was born August 11, 1943 in Mifflin County, PA to John and Myrtle (Fultz) Dean. Bernice was employed at the Caledonia-Mumford School District as a bus driver. She also taught swimming lessons in Caledonia for over 20 years. She was certified by the American Red Cross in Advanced Lifesaving. Bernice was active in the Caledonia Variety Show for many years. She served on the Caledonia Recreation Board. Bernice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and played Mrs. Claus for many years during the Hometown Holidays. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law; Deborah and Robert Frew, Caledonia, Teresa Emery, Rochester, and Michelle and Bryan Bogle, Florida, son; Jeremy Emery, Caledonia, nine grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law; Clint and Irene Dean, Ellsworth and Jean Dean, John Dean, Richard and Phillis Dean, all of PA, special friends; Jim and Anne Dollard, Lorretta Zanett, and Mary Anne Cornell, all of Caledonia. She is predeceased by her husband, Mike Emery, and sister, Kathleen Ammond. Friends called Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3008 West Main Street, Caledonia. Friends attended her Funeral Service, Wednesday, 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 3080 West Main Street, Caledonia. Officiated the service was Reverend Nancy Reinert.
