Robert Benson Jones II Robert Benson Jones II, age 56 years, of Caledonia passed away on April 10, 2008. He is survived by his son, R. Jamieson Jones; mother, Marjorie Jones; sister, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Tom) Sherwood; brother, Jeffrey (Susan) Jones. Benson also leaves his dear nieces, Sarah Sherwood (Jason Donley), Erin Sherwood (Sean Pease), Regan Sherwood (Mark Howlett); nephews, Ryan (Rian) Jones, Jeffrey Jones; friends Mike and Ann Bishop, Kathy Broderick, Linda Fitchette, and the members of the St. Michael's Episcopal Church Ministry Team of Drivers. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy (Keller) Jones, and his father, Robert Benson Jones I. Benson was born May 26, 1951, in Rochester and graduated from Caledonia-Mumford Central School and the University of Pudget Sound in Tacoma, WA. He served as Corporate Vice President of Jones Chemical, Inc. from 1986-1990, when he retired due to health issues. From a very young age, Benson was a member of the Genesee Valley Pony Club and the GV Hunt Club. He was also a founding member of the GV Nature Conservancy. Formerly of Tadmore Farms in Avon, Benson hosted many charitable events at the steeplechase racetrack he built. He also served as the volunteer chairperson for the Livingston County United Way. An avid horseman, Benson earned many awards and recognition for racing, showing, and breeding Thoroughbred horses. The family wishes to thank everyone for their loving kindness and support over the past few years. Friends attended his Memorial Service, Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 2 PM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 23 Main Street, Geneseo, NY 14454. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Church.
