Barbara J. Dempsey

   Barbara J. Dempsey, 72, of Mumford, died February 22, 2000 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. She was born May 15, 1927 in Rochester to John and Bernice (Geiger) Burggraf. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Mumford Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Henry Dempsey, Mumford; daughters, Linda Booth, Caledonia, Molly (David) Coyle, Mumford; grandchildren, Megan and Melissa Hallett, Amanda Coyle (Jeff Yaw), David Coyle (Megan Yasso); great-grandchildren, Emmalee and Morgan Hallett, Jeffrey Brandon Yaw Jr.; brother, Bernard (Alex) Burggraf, Rochester: sisters, Paula (Roy) Kemp, Scottsville, Nancy (Ray) Henry, Caledonia; sisters-in-law, Jeanne Quackenbush, Avon, Dorothy Davis, ME, Helen Dempsey, FL, several nieces and nephews.

   Friends called Thursday, February 24, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home. Her Memorial service was held Friday, February 25, 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Mumford. Officiating the service was Reverend Thomas Vickers. Interment was held at Mumford Rural Cemetery.
