Alta O. Handyside, age 90 years, of Caledonia died June 25, 2003 at Westgate Nursing Home in Gates. She was born February 11, 1913 in LeRoy, NY to Myron and Ada (Gleber) Hutton. Alta was a longtime member and organist for First Baptist Church in Mumford and also played organ at the Clifton Baptist Church in Clifton, Grace Episcopal Church in Scottsville, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Caledonia and York Baptist Church in York. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Marble of Mumford; son, Sherman Handyside of Brockport; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her husband, C. Everett and son, Lester predeceases Alta.

   Friends called Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Dakin Street, Mumford. A private interment will be held at the Mumford Rural Cemetery.
