Alberta M. Lucas, age 90 years, of Caledonia died August 8, 2003 at Noyes Hospital in Dansville. She was born May 4, 1913 in Warrington, VA to Albert and Rosabelle Marshall. Alberta grew up in the Wheatland-Mumford area and is a graduate of Caledonia-Mumford High School. She retired from Specialized Printing Forms after many years of service. Alberta was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Mumford for over 60 years. She was an avid gardener, a lover of birds and nature, artistic, and received many awards for her creativity with a sewing machine. She was over-joyed by her six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The last years of her life, Alberta spent at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris. She is survived by her sons; Ted "Fred" Jr. (Brenda) Lucas, Bart Lucas; daughter, Melanie Majors all of Caledonia; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her husband of 52 years, Fred Lucas Sr. predeceased Alberta in 1985.

   Friends called Monday, August 11, 2003 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street. Her Funeral Service followed at 2 PM at the Second Baptist Church in Mumford. Interment was held at Mumford Rural Cemetery.
