Mumford Sportsman Club Annual Fishing Derby
2009

Mumford Sportsman host 42 year traditional trout derby

The fish were biting in the cold waters of Spring and Oatka Creeks despite the cold temperatures and biting winds of Saturday, April 4.  Mumford’s Sportsmen Club hosted the annual trout derby for Cal-Mum kids.  The derby enjoys a 42 year tradition in the hamlet on the Oatka.

Everyone who participated took home a lure and winners received fishing equipment.
Winning fish are determined by length and are Ella Bohn with an 18 inch fish, Dylan Coyle with a 17 inch fish, Cody McGinnis came in just behind for third place with a 16 ¾ inch fish and the prize for being the youngest fisherman went to Phillip Georgiev with an 11 inch fish.

Spring is for fishing the cold waters of Spring and Oatka Creeks.
Mumford Sportsman Club celebrates more than 40 years
of hosting the derby for area kids.
