Cal-Mum Girls’ Modified Soccer: Fall 2007

    This years Modified Girl’s Soccer team finished with a record of 10-1-2. The ladies had an excellent season. The ladies outscored their opponents 35 goals to 7. Sarah Biondolillo led the Lady Raiders with 7 goals and 4 assists. Ciara Johnston closely followed with 6 goals and 2 assists. Emily Phillips led the Lady Raiders in assists, racking up 5 for the season. Great defensive games were played by Rachel Mooney, Katherine Feathers, and Katelyn Cappotelli. Katelyn Cole, Crystal Jones, and Daphne Limner combined for a total of 7 shut outs in 13 games!! The girls’ made significant gains in footwork, passing, and shooting this season. A lot of hard work, fun, and enthusiasm contributed to a successful season for the ladies. This year’s team was coached by Kristi Williams.

   The Future Lady Raider Award:

  • In recognition of a true understanding of what it is and what it will take to become a Lady Raider Soccer Player. This award is given to a "rookie" player in the modified program who grasps what it takes to carry on a tradition of excellence. It is hoped that the player will not only carry on this tradition but be an example to other Lady Raiders.

   This award was given to Rachel Mooney. Rachel is a 7th grader. This was Rachel’s first year on the modified team. She played stopper and gave 100% at every practice and every game. Rachel is a natural on the field- she knows her job, does it, and helps others around her. She is a very dependable player, if the ball was anywhere in the defensive third, Rachel was on it. She is very respectful of her teammates and her coach and is dedicated to her team. Rachel will be a very valuable component of the future of the girls soccer program. Rachel is the daughter of David and Kathleen Mooney of Caledonia.

   This award was given to Katelyn Cappotelli. Katelyn is an 8th grader. This was Katelyn’s second year on the modified team. Katelyn played defense for the Raiders. Katelyn is a quiet leader on and off of the field. She works hard, can play any position, and plays with her heart. She is constantly trying to improve her game- working on positioning, passing, and talking. She is a great role model for those around her. She is very respectful of her teammates and her coach and is dedicated to her team. Katelyn will be a very valuable component of the future of the girls soccer program. Katelyn is the daughter of Chris and Janet Cappotelli of Caledonia.
