Everyone is Irish for Lions Club boiled dinner

"Enough and no waste is as good as a feast." This Irish proverb describes the Cal-Mum Lions Club St. Patrick’s Day boiled dinner for senior citizens. The cooks arrived at J.W. Jones Hall at 8 a.m. to begin booking 118 pounds of corned beef, 50 pounds each of potatoes, cabbage and onions, and 30 pounds of carrots. The Lions do all of the cooking for the dinner each year. Just Playin’ Folks performed the music for listening or for those who wanted to do an Irish jig.
