Caledonia Library poses budget to village board Board members of the Caledonia Library Association attended a recent village board meeting to make their formal request for funding in this year's village budget. As an association library, Caledonia receives its funding from the village and town governments and shares a small amount of tax money with the Mumford Public Library that is collected for the two library systems through a line item on the Cal-Mum Central School annual tax statement. The library continues to operate at annually at a deficit, however, with recent increased support from both the Village and Town of Caledonia, that figures is decreasing. Automation, personnel salaries and insurance are at the three main budget expenditures for the Caledonia Library Association. The library continues to be a significant asset to the community and enjoys a high volume patronage with more than 15 new borrowers added monthly. The library offers wireless Internet, more than 400 new titles that are part of a rotating collection with the Pioneer Library System as well as an extensive video collection.
