Women in the American
Legion The month of March is Women’s Month in the American Legion. The Matthew Cleary Post 255, Caledonia would like to salute our women wartime veterans and thank them for their service to our country. The list below are women now members of our Post in Caledonia and we are honored to have them as part of our organization.
All eligible women veterans should look to the veterans organizations and know that they are welcome to join and are encouraged to do so. If there are any women in Livingston County that are interested in joining the American Legion please contact the County Commander at jake34@localnet.com Matthew Cleary Post 255

A photographic display of Cal-Mum area military service people is on exhibit from now until the end of March at Jubilee grocery store. The salute to area service people serving at home and abroad is courtesy of the Caledonia-Mumford Military Family Support Group. The group teamed up with store manager Josh Chubb who agreed to display the photo exhibit and to place collection boxes at each checkout for shoppers to donate much needed items to the service people. The Military Family Support Group will collect the items and mail care packages to the military personnel that they have addresses for. The group sent care packages out earlier this year and say the service people are extremely grateful to receive them. They have compiled a list of common items that ship well, however, you can add any item that you think will be appreciated. The complete list is available at Jubilee but here are a few suggestions: Pens, pencils, playing cards, writing paper, envelopes, baby powder, foot powder, toothpaste, toothbrush, Visine, sunscreen, batteries (9-volt, AA, C, D, AAA), deodorant, handy wipes, lip balm, snacks, crossword puzzle books, convenience foods with snap lids or microwavable, gum, candy, glass cleaner, etc. To add a name and photograph to the wall, or to find out what items you can donate to our service people, call 538-6298 or 538-2663. The next time you shop Jubilee, be sure to pick something that you think a soldier would appreciate receiving and then drop it in the box at the check out. Thank you!!!
