County employees show strong at National Kidney Foundation walk

    When it comes to helping others, you’ll find Livingston County employees rank at the top of the list. One hundred fifty county employees walked in the National Kidney Foundation Kidney Walk held recently on the SUNY Geneseo campus. Livingston County teams and employees raised a total of $11,889.41; 60 percent of the total $20,262.31 money raised in this year’s walk. County Administrator Nick Mazza and President and CEO of Noyes Hospital Jim Wissler co-chaired this year’s Kidney Walk.

   The top fundraisers are LCCNR & Joanne Dodd's Band of Ladies - $6,488; Livingston County Highway Department - $2,478; Cornell Cooperative Extension Walkers - $1,695; Livingston County Department of Health - $1,358.

   Over 350 students, kidney dialysis patients and adults alike walked to raise money to benefit the education and prevention of kidney and urinary tract diseases and awareness of the need for organ donation.

   Sponsors include Nunda Family Pharmacy, Quinlan’s Medical Supply Company, Commodity Resource Corporation, Lattimore Physical Therapy, Mama Mia’s Pizza and Wegmans.
