52 Heroes trek north to Santa Claus Parade On Saturday, November 17th, Kelley's Heroes Marching Band made their 16th consecutive trip to the North to march in Toronto's Santa Claus Parade. With 52 marchers on the street, they once again wowed the crowds as they played their Christmas tunes throughout the entire parade, wishing the crowd "Merry Christmas" as they waved to them between songs. Kelley's Heroes are truly the "crowd pleasers" in this incredible parade: spectators continually call out that the Caledonia based marching band are their favorite band and constantly heard "Welcome to Canada!" They were once again staged just three bands away from Santa, which parade officials claim that they arrange the best bands closest to Santa, what an honor!! Sunday's parade was amongst the largest in recent history, with more than a half million people lined up along the parade’s 3.5 mile route. It was a much warmer parade this year, temperatures around 45 degrees Fahrenheit with full sun. Marching in a long parade such as this is a lot of work, they virtually play non-stop throughout the entire parade route and the smiles on the children's faces and their chants of Merry Christmas make it all worthwhile!! The 2007 Toronto Santa Claus Parade can now be viewed on-line in its entirety (available for viewing until early January). A quick "commercial" will play out, then click on "More Videos", and then select by pull-down "The Santa Claus Parade: Part 7 of 9" Kelley's Heroes can be viewed between the 10:25 - 11:29 mark. They were televised with a little over 60 seconds of air time! You can also view the Attica High School Band: they are the first band in this same segment (at the 2:19 mark).
