In your "Story Behind the Poppy", you make mention of the poppy lady
of France. You have failed to give credit, however to our own fellow
American, Moina Michael, the original Poppy Lady. Her sale of poppies to
benefit the American Legion began in 1918. She also published a poem in
response to "In Flanders Field", titled "We Shall Keep The
Faith". Please don't forget where this lovely tradition actually

and Beth have been longtime close friends of the Wood family. More so,
George was a positive influence to me on how to treat people fair and square;

I am so glad that someone from this website took the time to publish just some
of the great accomplishments and deeds performed by the late George Traber.
Years ago George made it possible for me to continue my college education when I
thought I would not be able to afford the tuition again by arranging for me to
work that summer at Jones Chemical. More recently, George spoke at a military
funeral that I attended and he honored the man who passed away like no other.
His words were emotional, patriotic, intelligent, and respectful. George really
was a member of the "greatest generation" and will be missed by the
Caledonia Mumford community.

Pastor Keeley,
I just returned from Kenya doing crusades with Pastor Alex. We were in
Muhoroni, Borro, Siaya, Kakamega and a couple of other places.
The church is alive and well there, but it is a war torn country now. We
also visited with Sister Elaine at the orphanage in Kisumu.
Brother Alex, Sister Monica and all the other pastors and churches certainly
need prayer during this time.
I will be returning there in June, 2009. I will be in Conn in June this
year during a Women's Conference and also in October this year at a convention
