Lynn, A simply wonderful place for a banquet is out at the Genesee Country Museum. They have wonderful, wonderful treasures in the gift shop. The food is superb, and last year I picked up a pillowcase with lavender stitched into it.

I really miss the town I grew up in. The friday football games, pizza from Pizzaland (the best pizza in these 50 states) 4-wheeling at 2 try, fishing in the Spring Creek. You that still live there don't take it for granted. I moved two years ago to the east coast. I had 98 friends in my class, today my daughter has 423 people (that she may never know) The pass two years I have thought of Caledonia and what it has done for me. The US Post Office can be pretty retentive about addresses these days. I doubt the residents of Hambro Park would be real thrilled about having to update all their address for all the mail they receive. I would think that it would also effect all the utiliity companies who would have to change their records, fire districts, AND all the local maps in printed format and electronic format would have to be updated, etc.. Why would you would want all that to be done because a street sign has been mis-spelled for well over 60 years? And how is a local website going to help making that change even occur? It would be a village government issue and the topic should be addressed to them.

I grew up on the street which for many years has been mislabeled Hambro Park. It came to my attention during the Bicentennial celebration of 1976 that the house on State Street which is 2 doors west of the corner was the Hanna-Brodie farm house. I asked the late Mary Boyd if the street was supposed to be Hanbro, a combination of the two names. She said yes and that the mistake was made when the street sign was manufactured. I once saw an old map of Caledonia on which the correct name appeared.
If any of your staff is interested in this, feel free to contact me. Personally, I think the error of so many years ago should be corrected.

To anybody who is planning on visiting NYC (and has a craving for a garbage plate):  I just found out about a bar in Greenwich Village that serves them.  The name of the place is Daddy-O.  The address is 44 Bedford St. (Corner of Leroy and Bedford Streets).  The phone number is (212) 414-8884.  The owner of the place grew up in Spencerport.  The plates are excellent and her serves Zwiegle's hot dogs as well.  The only problem is that the bar is in Manhattan so you could be eating your plate next to a person who is drinking a martini (as opposed to a homeless savage who hasn't showered in a month and a half).  It definitely does not have Tahou's ambiance but well worth it.

On behalf of the Faith in Action program of Catholic Charities of Livingston County, I would like to take this opportunity to post on this website a thank you to Chris Green, owner and operator of the Cozy Kitchen Restaurant in Caledonia and his wonderful staff who are so kind and gracious.  Chris went out of his way to provide a delicious BBQ and pulled pork buffet to benefit our Faith in Action program, which provides volunteer support services to frail elderly and those with disabilities who are trying to live comfortably at home.  We raised over $1400!  People who came to the BBQ were very satisfied and enjoyed themselves.  His cooking and generosity are exceptional!  Thank you also to those local Caledonia businesses and churches who helped us sell tickets for this event.  Thank you to all who came out to help support our local elderly by purchasing a barbecue!

Interesting article by Mr. Thomas on the proposed Ethanol plant.  Why would Caledonia which is built on a very rare geological feature that is Spring Creek, want to jeopardize it's most valuable resource? Once its destroyed, it will never be back.  No matter how much technology is incorporated into chemical facilities, accidents always happen, and it only takes one to destroy Spring Creek.

Perhaps, on the Class Reunion page, there could be a header stating that contact information for a particular year's class could be obtained by clicking on the graduating classes year.  Then, when clicking on the individual years, people would be able to see the contact information.  On the sub-menu pull down it could say, "Class Information by Year". I agree with Paul Squire; notwithstanding that the Cal-Mum site has an existing email directory.  A class registry would be of great value and interest. The problem, of course, remains that there are limited ways to steer classmates to the web site in the first instance. Those of us who regularly visit Cal-Mum.com and know the whereabouts of classmates not registered on the email directory, or have contact with them, could be of great help in such an undertaking by encouraging them to visit the web site, and leave an email address.

I was born in England in 1945, but came to Mumford with my mother in 1946. My Grandmother Pease's (Stewart) forebears were among the original immigrants from Perthshire.  My cousin and I are doing research on family connections. Interest in the Stone Church Cemetery (for Rose) brought me to this site.  Thank you for the work on it.  I found it interesting reading and appreciate the opportunity to revisit (in my mind) many of the places I knew from childhood and early adulthood.
