Cub Scouts tour Caledonia Police Department

Exemplifying the true meaning of community policing, the Caledonia Police Department took time to show a group of Cub Scouts around the station and talk to them about their role in the community as police officers.

Officer Travis Gray played host to the scouts who were eager to learn about fingerprinting by having their own prints taken.

Gray, the newest part time member of the Caledonia police department, graduated at the top of his academy at Genesee Community College out of 24 recruits. He also holds an associates degree in fire protection technology from Monroe Community College and is planning to return to college to complete a bachelors degree.

Officer in Charge David Richardson said Gray has been an important contributor to several cases and he is very pleased with his professional demeanor and ability to relate well with people of all ages.

Gray started with CPD in April 2009. Speaking of working with the young cub scouts and in the Caledonia community, he said, "I love it, it’s very satisfying working in the community where I grew up."
