Bishop from Kenya visits two Caledonia churches
Bishop Alex Ouma Owuoth from Kenya visited several churches in Western New York at the end of April, including two in Caledonia. Pastor Robert and Mary Kay Keeley of Living Word Family Church and Pastor Robert and Rita Messmer of Caledonia Assembly of God, along with their congregations, hosted the bishop for a few days and for Sunday, April 29 services at their respective churches. Bishop Alex is founder and president of Christ Miracle Gospel Mission which has several branches, a 5,000 seat church and bible school in Kenya. The bishop arrived in Kentucky earlier in April to deliver what he calls, "a living word message" to the congregations concerning the kingdom of God. In his message, the bishop talks about how he experienced heaven in October 2004 when, as a diabetic, he was very gravely ill and hospitalized. He experienced death and says two angels visited him in the hospital emergency room and carried him to the golden gates of heaven. His story includes incredible details of his experience, including seeing beautiful buildings and mansions occupied by smiling men, women and children. He says Jesus escorted him around this paradise and also showed him hell. In the hospital the bishop awoke blind from a medical coma but says Jesus restored his sight. He has written a book telling of his heavenly experience and why he believes he did die, but was sent back to earth to minister a message of hope. Bishop Alex shares his story with Christians around the world who are fascinated and want to know more about God. His book is called, "Heavens Guest, Part One." A reception followed the bishop’s morning sermon at Living Word Family Church at which he answered many questions from the congregation. Pastor Keeley called the bishop’s message an incredible blessing to the listeners at both churches.
