The Organizational Meeting of the Caledonia Fire District was held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007. The 2007 Fire Commissioners are Donald Manley, James Dutton, Mark Schroeder, Thomas Forsyth and Bill Anderson. Jim Dutton was elected Chairman and Mark Schroeder was elected Co-Chairman of the Fire District for 2007.

   Appointments made by the District included Becky Schroeder, Clerk/Treasurer and William Kelly, Attorney.

   The Banks of Castile, Seven Star and Canandaigua Nation Bank were designated as the official depositories for the District. The regular meeting date will be the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Fire District Headquarters on Main Street. The Clarion was designated as the official newspaper.

   The District appointed Anthony DeMarco Fire Chief, Michael Churchill and John Pike, II Deputy Chiefs.

   Among the challenges facing the Fire District in the coming year will be preparing for the new State mandates regarding auditing and the budget process. And perhaps the biggest challenge is the recruitment of new fire fighters and the retention of our existing fire fighters.
